FAQs

  • Each charter can have up to 6 total guests. Please note child passengers, including infants, count as guests. Children aged 12 and under must always wear a life jacket, which we provide.

  • Please arrive at the Congress Street Dock 10 -15 minutes before your scheduled charter to give you time to meet your captain and settle into the boat.

  • The sea waits for no one! We’re kidding. What we’re not kidding about though is we unfortunately can’t delay a charter due to late arrivals. The clock on a 90-minute harbor cruise starts running at the scheduled charter time.

  • Salem has a wide range of public parking options! We suggest the South Harbor Garage located at 10 Congress Street which is a 2-minute walk to the Congress Street Dock.

  • Yes! Feel free to bring food, drinks, and alcohol (guests must be 21+ to consume alcohol). We recommend opting for cans over glass bottles where possible. If you do bring glass wine or liquor bottles, please keep them safely stowed when not in use to minimize the risk of breakage.

  • No. We recommend using the public Central Wharf Restrooms before or after your charter.

  • YES! Add more detail when we confirm the music hook up.

  • Doggone it! Pets are not allowed on board.

  • Smoking of any kind is not permitted.

  • There are no rain delays here! One of the wonderful things about Duffy boats is that they can be fully enclosed, allowing you to stay dry no matter what the conditions are outside! Charters will only be canceled if a small craft warning is issued by the National Weather Service for your scheduled reservation time. In that case, you’ll receive a full refund.

  • Yes! Our boats are fully enclosed and equipped with a heater so you can cruise comfortably throughout the seasons.

  • All charters must be canceled or rescheduled with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice prior to the start of the reservation to receive a full refund. All cancellations must be submitted via email to info@slowwakesociety.com. If we ever have to cancel due to weather or unexpected circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund.

  • While our location is wheelchair accessible, Duffy boats have narrower entryways and require stepping down into the vessel, which can make boarding more challenging for some guests. Give us a call before your visit and we'll do our best to make boarding as easy as possible. Folded wheelchairs are welcome onboard but will need to be stowed, as tie-downs aren't available.

  • Yes, our USCG captains do not require gratuities, but they are always graciously accepted and appreciated!.
