  • Our captains are USCG licensed and are allowed to carry up to six passengers – this number includes infants and children.  Children aged 12 and under must wear life jackets at all times.  We provide the life jackets.

  • Salem offers a wide range of public parking.  The South Harbor Garage at 10 Congress Street is a two-minute walk to our pick-up location at the Congress Street Dock.  And there are public restrooms at Central Wharf, 160 Derby Street.

  • Please arrive at our pick-up location (Congress Street Dock) 10-15 minutes before departure.  This will allow time for you to meet your captain and for everyone to review and sign the Release and Waiver before settling in for your cruise.

  • Please bring your own food, drinks (alcohol allowed for those over 21), and playlist.  Our classic Duffy electric boats are quiet with zero-emissions - so dining and conversing is a pleasure on this charming vessel.

  • One of the wonderful things about Duffy boats is that they can be fully enclosed, and they are equipped with a heater, so you stay comfortable regardless of the weather conditions.  Charters will only be canceled if a small craft warning is issued by the National Weather Service for your scheduled reservation time.  In that case, you’ll receive a full refund.

  • All charters must be canceled or rescheduled with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice before the reservation start time.  All cancellations must be submitted via email to:  info@slowwakesociety.comIf we have to cancel due to weather or unexpected circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund.

  • Yes, our USCG licensed captains do not require gratuities, but they are always graciously accepted and appreciated!

  • While our location is wheelchair accessible, Duffy boats have narrower entryways and require stepping down into the vessel, which can make boarding more challenging for some guests. Give us a call before your visit and we'll do our best to make boarding as easy as possible. Folded wheelchairs are welcome onboard but will need to be stowed, as tie-downs aren't available.
